Manchester United played a practice match against RC Lens on Saturday afternoon. At Old Trafford, manager Erik ten Hag’s team triumphed 3-1 against the French club.

At Manchester United, FC Twente target Facundo Pellistri was part of the match selection. This does not seem to be the case for a quick transfer. The Uruguayan attacker may be rented out and FC Twente would have talks with Manchester United this week.

Pellistri remained on the bench against Lens for ninety minutes. Ten Hag opted for a serious line-up and decided to make only two substitutions. Incidentally, both wing forwards were replaced, but Pellistri was not included in the plans. Ten Hag had Jadon Sancho and Omari Forson fill in.

Manchester United will play the last friendly game before the start of the competition in Dublin on Sunday. Athletic Bilbao is the opponent on Sunday and other names will probably get the chance. Manchester United will start the Premier League on Monday 14 August with a home game against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Opstelling Manchester United: Onana; Dalot, Varane, Martinez, Shaw; Casemiro, Mount, Fernandes; Antony (81′ Forson), Rashford in Garnacho (68′ Sancho).
