Detroit Tigers pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez declined to be traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday at the major league baseball trade deadline.

“E-Rod” has a partial no-move clause in his contract. He’s allowed to make a list of 10 teams he doesn’t want to play with and the Dodgers are one of them.

The 30-year-old Gunner was one of the last quality starters still available hours before major league clubs no longer have the right to negotiate. The Dodgers were looking to improve their rotation, but found themselves in trouble.

In 15 starts in 2023, Rodriguez posted a 2.95 ERA and a 6-5 record. The pitcher has an agreement still valid for three seasons, but he has an option that would allow him to become a free agent at the end of this campaign.
