The Miami receiver wants to be the first player to score 2,000 or more yards in a season.

MIAMI — Tyreek Hill He has a clear goal for this season.

The wide receiver of the Miami Dolphins he said on his podcast, “It Needed to Be Said”which will break the 2,000-yard passing mark, something that has yet to be accomplished in NFL history.

“I’ll break 2,000 yards next year, bro,” Tyreek Hill said. “2,000 yards is on my wish list before I leave this league… 2,000 yards and another Super Bowl, we are getting it. Believe it.”

The record of the NFL passing yards in a single season is 1,964, set by former Los Angeles wide receiver Detroit Lions, Calvin Johnson Jr., in 2012. Hill was on pace to break 2,000 yards last season, after reaching 1,104 yards in his first nine games; Countless injuries at quarterback derailed his season, but even so he set career-highs with 1,710 yards on 119 receptions.

Surprisingly, Hill admitted earlier this offseason that he got by mostly on his athletic ability in his first year with the Dolphins and that he had not fully understood the playbook.

“Last year, I was just playing,” he said in June. “I was just there using all my athleticism. Like, ‘here, Old [Tagovailoa, QB del equipo], I’m going to be here and throw me there’. So this year should be a crazier year for not only me but the other wide receivers as well.”

Miami added catchers Braxton Berrios y Robbie Chosen into a room that already included Hill and Jaylen Waddle, who also set a career high last season with 1,356 yards.

Whether Hill can flirt with or pass the 2,000-yard mark will depend largely on the health of Tagovailoa — the quarterback has been limited to 13 regular-season games in 2022. But Hill remains confident in his chances of making history in the NFL.

“I feel like I have the right tools around me,” he said. “Obviously I have the most accurate quarterback in the league. NFL, I have one of the best head coaches in the NFL and also my position coach is also a monster. So having those three things and keeping the same mindset each and every day that I want to get better and I want to break the record…”.

“So I feel like this is one of those years where I can make it.”
