The Youth Club held its general meeting a few weeks ago in an annex to the multipurpose hall of La-Croix-Saint-Leufroy, in Clef Vallée d’Eure (Eure).

The president, Michael Gosling, presented a satisfactory balance sheet for the season, with a workforce that is regaining color after three complicated seasons.

We have 132 members, only twenty less than our record year of 2019. This marks a turning point, the Covid is behind us, members are coming back.

Michael Gosling, Youth Club President

Indeed, the club had been strongly affected by the Covid, and had experienced a 65% drop in the number of its members between 2019 and 2021.

The balance sheet is also good, with a surplus of €2,013 in 2022, for €17,977 in income and €15,964 in expenses.

Call for volunteers

Despite this good news, Michael Gosling regrets the lack of support. “A downside in this recovery: the lack of volunteers overall, as for the festival committee which even had to stop its activities for this reason. As far as we are concerned, only two members came to our meeting. We thank them, because they will participate in some actions for the club next season”.

Two new back-to-school activities

Next season, the Youth Club is launching two new activities: boxing in the children’s and teens category, which already offers dance, multisports, badminton and rollerblading. For adults, sophrology classes will be offered alongside yoga, pilates, qi gong, and ballroom dancing.

“We would like to thank the town halls of Clef Vallée d’Eure and Cailly-sur-Eure for the loan of the premises, which allow us to offer activities”, recalls the president.
