The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) has published a video with the most beautiful moments of the past season on social networks. Two places in the top are also reserved for the Latvian national team.

The video, which collects several moments from all IIHF tournaments, highlights Christian Rubin’s victories as the first moment goals in the world championship bronze medal game against the USA. With his accurate shot, the defender brought Latvia the first awards in the history of the WC. Another one from 2022/2023. Mika Indraš’s accurate shot in the 1/4 final game against Sweden is marked among the most iconic moments of the 2018 season. Thanks to this goal, Latvia overcame the barrier of the quarterfinals for the first time.

It is interesting how the top also includes two episodes from the WC in Riga and Tampere, which were done directly against the Latvian national team. The first moment was in the subgroup duel between Latvia and Slovakia, where Slovakian goalkeeper Stanislavs Škorvanek stood out with an effective seivu, but another place in the top was taken by Canadian striker Adama Fantili’s goal in the semi-final. The third number of the NHL draft played beautifully around the defender of the Latvian national team Ralfs Freiberg and sent the puck into the fortress guarded by Artūrs Šilov.
