The XLI Edition of ‘Sports Games’ Sets New Participation Record with 2,127 Young Athletes

The XLI edition of ‘Sports Games’ has closed with an increase in participants, since there have been a total of 2,127 young athletes.

Why is it news? This figure represents a new participation record and increases the same by 38 athletes more than in the previous season.

The details

There have been 563 girls for 1,564 boys, a figure that improves the percentage of the previous season, (26.4% girls for 73.6% boys compared to 25% – 75% of the year 2022).

The team modalities have been Volleyball, with 11 teams; Basketball, with 22 teams; Futsal, with 51 teams; Soccer 11, with 18 teams; Football 8, with 15 teams.

Other individual modalities have been judo, rhythmic gymnastics, orientation, cycling and athletics.

One of the novelties this season has been the Endurance Sport League project, which with a total of 10 tests has brought individual resistance sports such as climbing, cross country, orienteering, swimming or duathlon closer to the little ones in fun days that have filled the annual calendar and the school sports facilities.

The key: as highlighted by the sports councillor, Alberto Belda, “for the Sports Centre, the inter-municipal phase of the ‘Sports Games’ constitutes the fundamental pillar as an incorporation through sport of the formative and constructive values ​​of childhood personality”.
