It may be months away from the start of the 2023-24 NBA season, but Lakers fans can still get their fix of basketball this summer.
NBA Summer League action begins on Monday, July 3. A total of 88 matches will be played over the course of two weeks, with all 30 teams participating. A Las Vegas Summer League champion will be crowned on Monday, July 17.
The Lakers roster has plenty of young talent, prominently featured are 2023 draft picks Jalen Hood-Schifino of Indiana and Maxwell Lewis of Pepperdine. While the vast majority of Summer League games will take place in Las Vegas, the Lakers will also play a couple games in Sacramento to kick things off as part of the California Classic.

When do the Lakers play in the NBA Summer League?
The Lakers open their Summer League game July 3 against the Heat in the California Classic. After two games in Sacramento, they will head to Las Vegas.

Even though the Lakers face the Spurs on July 5, their team will not face Victor Wembanyama. The first overall pick won’t go to Sacramento for the California Classic. However, a matchup against #2 overall pick Brandon Miller and the Hornets looms on July 9.
LA will close its 2023 Summer League schedule between July 15 and 17, depending on its performance.
