On leaving the Big Apple, Evan Fournier hopes to bounce back into a franchise where he will have playing time. The Spurs are his preference, but a trade is still far from certain. Not even a buyout. And the reason is relatively simple to understand according to a journalist.
Evan Fournier will leave the Knicks, remains to be seen when exactly. While he is currently preparing for the World Cup with the Blues, the Frenchman also hopes to receive good news with a possible trade, to an unknown destination to date. The Spurs have been cited in this file, but the interest of the Texas franchise remains measured. It’s entirely possible that Fournier will stay in the Big Apple for a while.
Evan Fournier stuck at the Knicks?
This is also the likely scenario according to many journalists. The thing is, Evan is an asset to New York in a trade, blamed on an expiring contract. The Knicks therefore prefer to use it rather than settle for a buyout, or send it anywhere in a hurry. Journalist Sam Quinn gave some more information to better understand.
Sam on Evan Fournier’s comments:
“I don’t think they care about the Evan Fournier thing at all that contract is so valuable from a trade perspective it is essentially a two-year expiring contract … they aren’t going to let what he says in the media impact what they decide to… pic.twitter.com/A1FQKRbVYw

Despite his desires elsewhere, or rather to join the Spurs, do not count on the Knicks to collaborate. The frank is looking for the best counterpart to take action, whether with San Antonio or another team. Suffice to say that this soap opera could last a long time.
You can’t just trade Evan for nothing I agree with Sam here… it’s an expiring contract with a team option um hello valuable???

Evan Fournier may want to get off the train, but the Knicks have no plans to do him a favor. When the franchise finds the right opportunity, then a trade will emerge. Until then, it looks like the Frenchman will have to be patient.
