Arantxa Serrano’s Journey at the Iberdrola National Precision Archery Championship

The Iberdrola National Precision Archery Championship took place last weekend, in which archer Arantxa Serrano, from Arcoclub las Lomas, in Cuenca, would compete in the Compound Bow modality. On Saturday the individual qualifier would be played, in which the goalkeeper Arantxa would be able to qualify in 30th place, thus being able to play the direct confrontations. Confrontations, which were held that same afternoon between the 64 best archers in the country.

Arantxa would compete, with her partner from the butt Rocío Ortiz, whom she would manage to defeat, and therefore be able to continue fighting for medals on Sunday, where the clashes between the 32 best archers would be held. Separate mention to communicate that on Saturday the record of female participants between compound bow and recurve bow was achieved, passing one hundred women.

On Sunday the confrontation by teams of Autonomous Communities would be played, where the team from Castilla-La Mancha would be made up of Arantxa Serrano, Lucia Alejo and Ana Rodríguez. The Manchegas, after qualifying in fifth place, would face the Castilian and Leonese. After the 5 innings, they would manage to tie, having to dispute the pass to the semifinals in the tiebreaker arrow, finally, the Manchegas did not manage to advance to the semifinals by a tight 29-30, thus staying on the verge of being able to fight for a medal.

That same day, the individual confrontations between the 32 archers would be played, in which the archer Arantxa would face Paula Diaz from Madrid. On this occasion, Arantxa would not be able to win, being eliminated from the competition. Thus obtaining a 17th place in the standings, with an eye on the next season.
