The Netherlands began their participation with a 1-0 victory against Portugal, achieved by Stefanie Van der Gragt after 13 minutes of a match played in Dunedin.
But the Dutch did not seem to have the power they had four years ago, despite their dominance over the Portuguese.
Portugal struggled to create scoring chances, their first shot coming in the 82nd minute off the feet of Telma Encarnacao, who came on in the second half.
The Dutch will face one of the great favorites of the tournament on the following date: the United States team, which thrashed Vietnam in its presentation. This game will be played on Wednesday at 22.00 in Wellington.

Even so, the Netherlands coach, Andries Jonker, assured after the game that he is not afraid of the United States.
European and North American will be a reissue of the final of the Women’s World Cup in France-2019 won by those led by Megan Raponie.
Portugal will seek revenge on Thursday from 4.30 when they play their match against the Vietnamese in Hamilton.
