Poor Management and Parking Issues Plague Dasan Sports Park in Namyangju

It is pointed out that Dasan Sports Park, which Namyangju City took over from Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Corporation (GH), is poorly managed.

According to Namyangju City on the 2nd, Dasan Sports Park is a park that Namyangju City took over from GH in June of last year.

However, in the park parking lot with 80 sides, vehicles other than the purpose of park use are parked, so park users are experiencing difficulties in using the park due to difficulties in parking.

In addition, the opposite side of the park is Hyundai Premium Outlet, and on weekends, there is no parking space, so it was found that some employees and guests were parking here.

In fact, the Dasan Sports Park visited that day had all the bollards pulled out and the company was repairing, and a white car with a placard saying ‘no parking in the park’ was running at low speed over the park with the driver smoking.

When there was no space in the parking lot, they parked on the grass and headed to the tennis court. The grass in the park here has been crushed or uprooted by vehicles.

Along with this, the park parking lot was reminiscent of a ‘taxi shelter’. Half of the 80 or so parked cars were taxis. Even Uijeongbu and Guri taxis, not Namyangju private taxis, were parked, and taxis occupied right in front of the entrance.

Resident A (Dasan-dong, Namyangju-si) said, “There was no parking space due to empty parking. Banners saying, “Please refrain from parking for vehicles visiting for purposes other than parks,” are degenerating into ornaments.”

To solve this problem, the city sent an official letter of cooperation to the Hyundai Premium Outlet from last year asking them to ‘refrain from parking in the park’ and plans to check the site frequently and reinstall all bollards by early next month.

An official from the city said, “We have completed the installation of the circuit breaker, and the timing of charging is under review internally.”
