Oriol Romeu would give the OK to Barça pending final negotiations with Girona

Oriol Romeu has become Barça’s most realistic option to sign a midfielder who plays in front of the defence. The coaching staff has fully given the OK to the player and the footballer himself would be ready to accept an offer from Barcelona for the next two seasons, with an option for a third. Barça is clear that the operation is feasible and could contact him this week Girona if total consensus is generated with the sports area. Barça’s idea is to negotiate a reduction in the clause with the inclusion of some player from the quarry.

The irruption of Oriol Romeu comes after surveying the market. Xavi and much of the sports area understands that the player trained at Barça is an option consistent with what is being sought and they highly value his international experience and training as a pivot in The Farmhouse. Xavi knows him perfectly and knows that he has had an exceptional season at Girona. Much of the sports area also sees him as an ideal candidate, but the new sporting director, Deco, would like to wait some time to see if there are other profiles on the market.

Oriol Romeu has been aware of Barça’s interest for days and would already have a first proposal on the table. The agreement between Barça and the player would not be a problem and the Blaugrana club understand that there will also be an agreement with Girona. At the moment, they have not wanted to advance between clubs out of respect for the Girona club and pending a final sporting decision.

Barça, open to include a player in the Oriol Romeu operation

Barça knows that the termination clause is a negotiable issue despite the fact that Girona has warned that it would only come out if it is paid in full. The Blaugrana club is working on a first scenario of a fifty percent discount including some players from the quarry.
