Lithuanian pivot Evaldas Kairys, new player of Coviran Granada

The Lithuanian center Evaldas Kairys became this Friday a new player for Coviran Granada, the seventh movement of the Andalusian team for the next campaign in the Endesa League.

The Lithuanian, 2.07 and 32 years old, joins the signings of David Kramer and the continuity of Lluís Costa, Pere Tomàs, Christian Díaz, Cristiano Felicio and Joe Thomasson.

Kairys has extensive experience in the Lithuanian and Turkish leagues, as well as having played in European competition for several seasons. The new Coviran Granada player has worn the Rytas Vilnius jersey for the last two seasons, who lost the final of the Lithuanian league against Zalgiris Kaunas in the fifth game and averaged 5.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 7 last season. ‘4 valuation in 12 minutes on average.

In addition, Kairys played in Turkey with Afyon and Muratbey Usak Sportif after serving with Pieno Zvaigzdes and Vilniaus Perlas Energija for four and three seasons, respectively.

“For us, he is a good signing to share the position of center with Felicio. He is an experienced player who plays with a lot of energy and has the ability to make different blocking defences. In attack he is a good direct blocking player. He knows what his advantages and knows how to use them”, says Pablo Pin, Granada’s coach, in statements collected by the official website.

“He was highly valued in the market in Lithuania, but he wanted to take a different step in his career and play in Spain and for us it is a satisfaction that he joins our team and I am sure that he will bring us many things”, he ends.
