Dépor’s preseason starts on the 17th with eight friendlies scheduled

The new sports director of Dépor, Fernando Soriano, outlined yesterday the initial design of the preseason of the first team from A Coruña, which will start on July 17 and 18 with medical tests to start training on Wednesday 19 under the new blue and white coach, Imanol Idiakezwho will be presented early next week.

are scheduled eight friendlies and five rivals are already confirmed: Fabril, Atlético Arteixo, Racing Villalbés, Compostela and Ponferradina. The A Coruña team will debut on July 29 against the subsidiary, which next season will compete in the RFEF Second Division after achieving promotion under the orders of Óscar Gilsanz. The next test, on August 2, will be in Ponte dos Brozos against Atlético Arteixo, in a match that will serve as a tribute to the great Deportivo legend, Arsenio Iglesias. Later, on August 5, Dépor will face the Teresa Herrera in Riazor against an opponent yet to be announced.

Quarry and experience, Soriano’s mixture for the new Dépor

On August 8 they will face Racing Villalbés, and two days later, on Thursday the 10th, they will face Compostela in A Pobra do Caramiñal. On Tuesday the 15th, Dépor will face a direct rival from the same group in the RFEF First Division, Ponferradina, recently relegated from the Second Division.

Two other preparation tests scheduled for August 12 and 19 are pending completion. In total, eight friendlies scheduled to refine the preparation for the league debut in the First RFEF, set for the last weekend of August.

The new sports director announced that both the blue and white first team and the subsidiary will start “the same day or with a day apart so that they can be combined without any problem” and that both squads “train at the same time”. “Two or even three” Fabril footballers will be in the first team dynamics from day one with the group led by Idiakez.

Lebedenko, already out, is the only one who asked to leave

Orest Lebedenko’s goodbye, officially announced yesterday by Deportivo, occurs because the Ukrainian “asked to leave because he had a proposal from a team outside of Spain (Portugal). An economic agreement was reached under favorable conditions for us”, indicated Soriano. He acknowledged that it was a transfer, but without wanting to detail for what amount. To cover his loss on the left side, the club is in a very advanced negotiation with Mikel Balenziaga, although the sports director did not agree to refer to those conversations specifically. He limited himself to saying that Dépor was “close to finding a replacement” for Lebedenko. According to Soriano, the Ukrainian is the only one who has asked to leave, beyond “some discomfort due to personal situations last year.” A priori, the rest of the footballers “are available for the 17th”, including Trilli and Yeremay, who will be part of the new project unless some other club decides to make their termination clauses effective. Al Dépor, according to Soriano, has not received a “firm offer” for any player on the squad. On the other hand, the man from Zaragoza pointed out that the club is considering hiring a football director to coordinate all the areas, but that it is not something that has been decided.
