The Spaniard grabbed a racket for the first time since winning the Queen’s tournament and held a one-hour session on Court 1 at Aorangi Park. There he was accompanied by his physical trainer, Juanjo Moreno, and by Juan Carlos Ferrero, his coach, as well as sparring Adam Jones, a British player ranked 1147th in the ranking.

He was with the English player for about 45 minutes in which he had an impact on all the blows and felt the ball again, after several days moved to the gym as a precaution regarding the abductor of the right leg, the one that was injured in the Queen’s final against Alex of Minaur.

At the end, he met Alexander Zverev, his possible rival in the round of 16 and whom Ferrero had already trained.
