Ajax is making concrete work of Jeremiah St. Juste. That reports 1908.nl Tuesday evening. The team from Amsterdam sees the defender as the successor to Jurrien Timber, who is up for a transfer to Arsenal.

Ajax director Sven Mislintat has St. Juste in high regard, of which it is still unclear whether he is open to a possible return to the Eredivisie. The first rapprochement with the player himself and with Sporting Clube de Portugal, his current club, has already been sought.

In Portugal, the central defender is under contract until mid-2026. St. Juste came over from SC Heerenveen to Feyenoord in the summer of 2017. The Rotterdammers paid almost five million euros. Two years later he made the switch to the German Mainz 05 for eight million euros.
