Yankees win series over Dodgers

The series everyone was waiting for between the New York Yankees and the Los Angeles Dodgers did not disappoint.

If the first game was completely to the advantage of the Californians, Luis Severino allowing six earned runs in the first inning, the other two games have given excellent baseball.

In last night’s game (Sunday), the two teams were tied at one all in the eighth inning when Anthony Rizzo scored the winning run on a ground ball to the infield of Oswaldo Cabrera.

Anthony Volpe then provided breathing room with a two-run homer in the ninth inning and the Bronx Bombers cruised to a 4-1 victory over the Dodgers.

Domingo German and young Bobby Miller were sensational on the mound, allowing the two of them just one earned run on five hits in twelve and two-thirds innings of work.

On the losing side, JD Martinez scored their lone run with a solo long ball in the seventh inning.

This win for the Yankees brings them to ten wins against nine losses in the regular season against the Dodgers in their history, which means that they now have a positive record against the 29 other teams in MLB.

Impressive!

The Dodgers head to Cincinnati to play a three-game series starting Tuesday, while the Yankees return home to host the Chicago White Sox there the same day.
