Ternium announces million-dollar investment to build a new plant in Mexico – El Sol de México

The Ternium steel company announced a million-dollar investment to build a new plant in Mexico, which will be located in the municipality of Pesquería, in Nuevo León.

The complex for the production of steel slabs will cost three thousand 200 million dollars, reported the company.

Ternium said construction will begin in December this year and the new plant is expected to start operations in the first half of 2026.

He added that the new state-of-the-art facility will complement the company’s hot rolling mill, which began operating in the same Monterrey town in mid-2021.

The company highlighted that the new complex will be equipped with the latest technologies to accelerate its commitment to sustainability, proof of this is that all the water used in the production process of the new facility will come from treated wastewater for industrial use.

“The value chain in Mexico is quickly addressing and responding to the growth opportunities presented by the close relocation of manufacturing capacity. We are sure that the qualified workforce and the favorable business environment in the country will allow us to achieve our ambitious goals”, said Máximo Vedoya, CEO of Ternium.
