Egan Bernal will also be there at the next Tour de France, starting on June 29th. The Colombian, who won the race in 2019 and the Giro d’Italia in 2021 before being the victim of a serious training accident in January 2022, announced his participation, with the Ineos team, on social media: “I finished the first part of the season, now I’m in Colombia for a few days to prepare for a nice Tour de France,” wrote the 27-year-old rider.
Bernal returned to the group last year but without shining, while he started 2024 much better, with a third place in the Tour of Catalonia won by Slovenian Tadej Pogacar. The Ineos team will also field Carlos Rodriguez, who won the Tour de Romandie on Sunday, where Bernal finished tenth.
