After the playoff loss against the Denver Nuggets, the Phoenix Suns want to make another attempt at the title. For this they have fished a master coach.
Frank Vogel, head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers, is the new head coach of the Phoenix Suns.
The 49-year-old follows the club from the basketball professional league NBA on Monty Williams, who after losing in the playoff quarterfinals against the Denver Nuggets (2:4) had been released.
“This is an important day for our organization as we continue to build a championship culture on and off the court. Frank is an accomplished coach who knows how to win an NBA title,” said club owner Mat Ishbia.
Vogel was the Lakers’ head coach from 2019 to 2022, and in 2020 he led the club to their 17th title. The American previously stood on the sidelines for the Indiana Pacers and Orlando Magic.
