Mathieu Boyer and Guillaume Boucard leave Saint-Chamond

The SCBVG, professional basketball club of the Stéphanoise Metropolis, has formalized the departure of two players from its workforce: Mathieu Boyer and Guillaume Boucard.

Mathieu Boyer, revelation of last season and double MVP (best player of the season) for the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 seasons, has decided to leave the SCBVG. He achieved two very high level seasons and took on a new dimension by joining the club. As a very skilled interior, he formed a successful duo with Mathieu Guichard and posted excellent statistics: 15 points, 8.3 rebounds and 19.3 rating.

The club thanks Mathieu Boyer for his two great seasons and wishes him good luck for the rest of his career.

As for Guillaume Boucard, who arrived at SCBVG last summer, he will not continue his adventure in the Loire. The Canadian position 3 had a difficult season, marked by an injury in January during the match against Quimper, which ended his season prematurely. Currently in rehabilitation, Guillaume Boucard has shown professionalism and the club thanks him, wishing him a speedy recovery for a quick return to the courts.

The SCBVG has been playing in PRO B since 2015 and since September 2022, the club has been playing at the Arena Saint-Etienne Métropole, a 4,200-seat hall which strengthens its presence as a player in local sporting life in Saint-Étienne.
