Judosportverein Kaiserslautern Shines at Ruprecht-Drouet Memorial Cup Tournament in Wemmetsweiler

Wemmetsweiler. On Sunday, the Wemmetsweiler Judo Club in Saarland invited to the Ruprecht-Drouet Memorial Cup tournament and, in addition to numerous clubs from Saarland and the Palatinate, the Kaiserslautern Judo Sports Club was also represented with nine fighters.

In the under-eleven age group, Livian Hermann, Marlene Wittek, Ilian Siebert, Ilja Müller and Leon Babyar started early in their respective weight classes. Livian and Marlene secured first place with strong fights. Ilian, who completed his very first competition, Leon and Ilja won the silver medal with equally great performances.

In the U13 age group, Ben Wilhelm, Theodor Wittek and again as a double starter Livian Hermann competed against the competition. Theodor was able to assert himself in all three fights, some of which were tough, and secured the top spot on the podium. Despite his younger age, Livian also impressed with his performance and, like Ben, fought for second place.

In the late afternoon, due to a lack of opponents, Andrej Müller not only competed in his actual weight class up to 37 kg, but also in the next higher weight class up to 40 kg and won both fights comfortably, so that he ultimately even won the team ranking in the age group by winning two weight classes U15 was able to take home.

Since the U18 age group was unfortunately not sufficiently occupied in all weight classes, Erika Müller had to be satisfied with friendly matches, which she won confidently.

All in all, this was once again a successful day of competition for the athletes of the Judosportverein Kaiserslautern!
