French Squad List for Euro Cup: Deschamps Calls up New Faces and Surprise Returns

Didier Deschamps announced this Thursday, on TF1 news, the French team’s squad list for the next Euro Cup, in which Les Bleus start as the top favorites to win the title. Ferland Mendy, who had not been called up for two years, was the main novelty, in addition to Bradley Barcola, a PSG winger, who received his first call-up after having had an extraordinary season in Paris. Ngolo Kanté, surprisingly, was also called up by Deschamps, after several months in which he did not have the coach’s confidence due to his signing for Saudi football.

Also included in the call are Aurélien Tchouaméni, a doubt for the Champions League final, and Eduardo Camavinga, a fixture for the French coach, Deschamps, since practically the World Cup in Qatar. Both, concentrated with Real Madrid for the Champions League final, must join the French training camp on June 2, one day after facing Dortmund.

The list, of extraordinary quality, continues to be led by Kylian Mbappé and Antoine Griezmann. The forward will play his last tournament before signing with Real Madrid, after leaving PSG after seven seasons in the French capital.
