Derieuw, who comes out in minus 66 kg, enters the ring at 2 pm against the French Emilie Sonvico. If she wins, the 36-year-old from West Flanders will become the first Belgian boxing star at the Olympic Games. In the men’s category, Usturoi can succeed Abdelkader Wahabi, who defended the Belgian colors at the Barcelona Games in 1992. He must pass the Danish Frederik Lundga Jensen in less than 57 kg. The fight starts at 7:45 PM.

Lianne Tan (BWF 45) and Julien Carraggi (BWF 71) both play their third and final group match in badminton. They face the Finnish Nella Nyqvest (BWF 407) and the Czech Jan Louda (BWF 55) in Tarnow and are aiming for a third win in a row and a group win. Carraggi is already certain of the eighth finals. The competition also counts as European Championship and for the Olympic ranking.

In the triathlon, Arnaud Mengal and Noah Servais start at 10 am in the men’s competition. Just like Jolien Vermeylen, good for bronze on Tuesday, they hope to provide a surprise.

The Belgian men in table tennis will play their first round (1/8th final) in the team competition in the evening. Poland awaits in the Hutnik Arena in Krakow.
