The Latvian Olympic Committee will evaluate the dismissal of the president and general secretary

Initially, it was expected that in the extraordinary session of the General Assembly, together with questions about improving the cooperation of the non-governmental sector of the sports industry and developing a management model, the possible conflict of interest in Tikmera’s activities would also be evaluated.

At the moment, the agenda also includes questions about recalling the president and general secretary of the LOK, as well as, if necessary, it is also planned to discuss the fulfillment of the duties of the members of the board of the LOK and the holding of elections of the members of the board of the LOK.

The extraordinary session of the General Assembly will be held on May 26 at the Radisson Blu Daugava Hotel, Kuģu Street 24, and will start at 11 a.m.

It has already been reported that LOK president Tikmers rejects suspicions of a possible conflict of interest, as his spouses are members of the same LOK-related companies, claiming that he can see the desire of the Latvian Basketball Association (LBS) to implement a smear campaign against him in the fight for influence in LOK.

LOK and LBS engaged in a public and conflicting exchange of opinions after information about the involvement of his former and current family members in companies that provide services to Olympic centers came to light in an interview with LOK President Tikmera by Latvian Television (LTV) “Sporta studijas”.
