This Thursday night the celebration of the XIII Gala of the Municipal Sports Games and School Sports of Almería that has put the finishing touch to an impeccable course by clubs and athletes from the capital.

For a few hours, in the grassroots youth team, they changed their sportswear for a dress code with the intention of celebrating the victories achieved during the season. Fun, joy and camaraderie, three fundamental links in sport that have been impregnated in the Maestro Padilla Auditorium with the ceremony led by the presenters Rafael Lopez y Monica Aldehuela.



The musical performance of I need a hero in charge of the band Rock Over marked the beginning of the gala, which announced the winners of the different categories of eight awards and a special posthumous recognition to figures who have made the sport of Almeria grow.

The rest of the awards were best referee/judge for Maria del Carmen Fernandez. A distinction that recognizes the pedagogical work, instilling fair play and rules in the players. The award to best coach fell on Ana Milan Capel thanks to his role in the sport of the youth academy. They continued with the third recognition for the Cajamar Award for best teaching centerwhich fell on the CEIP El Puche.

If students have their first contact with sport in schools, it is in clubs where they can shape their talent. The best club award distinguished Club Judo Mytos for working with the city’s quarry, giving them a future projection.

He sportsmanship award integrity was the flagship and, valuing exceptional behavior on the field of play, not only for their skills and sporting achievements, but for respect and fair play, recognized URA Clan as a symbol of example for the society of Almería. The club includes people with and without neurodiversity, as well as any other disability and who can experience rugby as a sport and way of life, based on education, equality and inclusion.

In addition, there were moments to remember and be moved by paying posthumous tribute to Francisco Pizan (handball), Francisco Cortes (indoor football), Raphael Mesa (fishing), Francisco de Paula Molina (Unicaja Social Work) and Sebastian Vidal (sailing) and the sporting career of Manuel Gonzalezpresident of the Condor Mountaineering Club.

The most special and emotional moment of the night came when the prize for sports career that the mayoress gave to Manuel Gonzalez Fernandez, president of the Condor Club, as well as he was awarded the Gold Shield of Almería.
