Patagonian Integration Games: Tierra del Fuego achieves more medals

The closing ceremony of the second edition of the Patagonian Integration Games was held, while this Sunday the action is completed in some disciplines that are active in the sports schedule. There were brilliant performances in wrestling, Olympic lifting and artistic gymnastics, archery, taekwondo and table tennis.

In the closing ceremony of the second edition of the Patagonian Integration Games, headed by the president of Chubut Deportes, Gustavo Hernández, the venue for the third edition was announced, which will be the province of Neuquén. This Sunday, the action will be completed in some disciplines that have activity in the sports schedule.

FUEGUINO TABLE TENNIS

Excellent performance of our Fuegian representatives who were competing on Friday the 26th and Saturday the 27th in the PCD and conventional modalities in male singles, female singles and mixed.
The medalists were:

Male Singles PCD: Emiliano Albers. (gold)
Men’s Singles: Franco Elgueta (gold)
Men’s doubles: (silver) Franco Elgueta and Ian Jovanovich
Women’s doubles: (gold)Martina Rocha and Maia Rodriguez.
Mixed: (gold) Franco Elgueta and Martina Rocha.

BRONZE FOR THE UNDER 15 OF ARCHERY

The most outstanding Fuegian was Renzo Monchietti who managed to place himself in third place and thus hang the bronze medal in the sub 15 category while in the female branch, the Fuegian representatives could not add a podium.

GREAT DAY FOR BADMINTON

Fuegian badminton, in its second presentation in these Patagonian Integration Games, managed to have a great performance by its representatives, both in its PCD (people with disabilities) and conventional modality.
Celeste Frem (PCD) got a pass to the final, while Débora Martin (conventional) and the female and mixed duos will be competing for third place.
Tierra del Fuego will go after the long-awaited medals on Sunday.

THE DEBUT OF SPORT CLIMBING

This Saturday at the Club Andino the opening of the Sports Climbing in the Patagonian Integration Games was held.
The Fuegians present (Julieta Turi, Pilar Roca, Gustavo Giro and Dante Bertoletti) and despite having given their all in the 16 boulders specially prepared for the competition, failed to pass the qualifying rounds, thus ending their presentation at the Patagonian Integration Games.

TAEKWONDO AWARDED THREE MEDALS FOR THE FUEGUIAN DELEGATION

The Fuegians had a brilliant performance, achieving three important medals.
The most outstanding was Leonel Villar, who reached the final of the contest and was left with the victory and a valuable gold medal in the -73kg category. For her part, among the ladies, the taekwondo player Martina García (-63kg) was the one with the best performance, managing to reach the semifinals and getting the bronze medal. The same was true for Dylan Poblete (-55kg) who made it to the semifinals, but he couldn’t overcome that stage and in any case he kept the bronze medal as indicated by the regulations of the discipline.
This Sunday the team competition will be held and later the official award ceremony to decree the closure of the tournament.

BRILLIANT DAY OF THE FUEGUINIAN WEIGHTLIFE

In the women’s Branch, the weightlifter Malena Roche won the silver medal in the +64kg category, thus obtaining a medal for the women’s team.
While, among the men, the heaviest weightlifters managed to close their participation with a silver medal each. Benjamín Díaz was second in the -81kg division, while Octavio Sosa was also second but in the +81kg category. In this way, the Fuegian weightlifting team closes its participation in the games, with six medals in a total of six competitors.

MEDALS AT THE CLOSURE OF ARTISTIC GYMNASTICS

To the three medals obtained last Friday, we must add the seven medals obtained in the individual modality with apparatus.
Antuan Paladea once again stood out and thanks to this he obtained four more medals (one silver and two bronze), being the most outstanding male from Tierra del Fuego.
For her part in the women’s branch, Analia Ruston won the gold medal in the vaulted apparatus and Ashley Venier got the bronze. In addition, in the uneven bars Analia Ruston won the silver medal and in beam, Valentina Smorochyk won the bronze medal.
