14 Nations Confirmed for Men’s Futsal World Cup in Colombia: Argentina Eyes Third Title

There is less and less time until the start of the Men’s Futsal World Cup and FIFUSA (the federation that brings together countries in the discipline) recently confirmed that there are 14 nations registered for this competition, among which is the Argentine national teamwhich will try to get its third star in history.

After the great controversy that was generated by the World Cup in the C-20 category, which had only five South American teams (Argentina became champion with four players from Mendoza), the entity in charge of organizing the ecumenical competition got its hands on the work and the participation of more than a dozen teams has already been assured, although it is estimated that the tournament will have between 16 and 20 teams.

The Futsal World Cup will take place in Colombia during September.

Among the teams that have already confirmed their attendance are: Colombia (organizer), Argentina, Brazil, Venezuela, Chile, Ecuador, Mexico, Canada, United States, Czech Republic, France, Congo, Australia and Pakistan. What is striking is the absence of Paraguay, champion in 2023, and Uruguay, which won the silver medal in last year’s competition, although there is still time for these teams to join the list.

Meanwhile, the Argentine team will begin its preparation work for the World Cup. In fact, next Tuesday, April 30, those mentioned will have their first concentration in Tucumán, which will last until May 5 and will be attended by the people of Mendoza. Diego Koltes, Juan De Lucía, (Jockey Club), Gaspar Batiz (Jockey Club / Spes Poggio Fidonni) y Tomás Civelli (Talleres / Sport Center Celano).
