New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft announced Thursday that organization legend Tom Brady has been invited to attend the team’s first game at Gillette Stadium in 2023 to be honored.
“The greatest player in history played right here in Foxboro, and I’m happy to tell you that I invited him to come back here and be with us for the opening game,” Kraft said in a statement. video posted on the club’s social media.

Brady announced last February that he was retiring “for good”, after reversing his decision ahead of the 2022 season.
Brady, who played from 2000-2019 with the Patriots before joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the final three seasons of his career, is the NFL leader in passing yards (89,214) and touchdown passes (649). He is also the only player to have won more than five Super Bowl rings and been named the Goodell Tour Championship Game MVP five times.
He won the Super Bowl six times with the Patriots and once with the Buccaneers.
Brady was also named the NFL’s Most Valuable Player three times, was named to the league’s First All-Star Team on three occasions, in addition to being selected for the Pro Bowl 15 times.
