In 2025, the Czech Republic will host the Women’s Ice Hockey World Championship for the first time in its history. The IIHF International Federation decided to award the championship to the country of the reigning two-time bronze medalists at a congress in Tampere during the ongoing Men’s World Cup.

The senior world championships will thus take place in the Czech Republic two years in a row. In 2024, Prague and Ostrava will host the men’s championship, and a year later they will play for the women’s hockey medals in an as yet unknown venue.
