Germans Insinuate Haaland’s Weapon Is Farting | metropolises

Images from the English website @TrollFootball show the Norwegian’s alleged quarrel with midfielder Goretzka, who complains about the bad smell on the pitch

The English humor profile @TrollFootball, with more than 3 million followers, circulates a video on Twitter of the match between Bayern and Manchester City, for the Champions League, showing the German midfielder Leon Goretzka visibly bothered by the smell exhaled by the striker Erling Haaland.

In the caption – which soon went viral and was reproduced by dozens of other pages on social networks – an alleged statement by the German defender:

“Haaland has no respect for opponents or football. He farted every time we approached him last game. He did this more than once, ”he complained.

In the video that you can check out below, Goretzka can be seen pinching his nose, exchanging a few words with Haaland, while the Norwegian smiles and then holds his stomach, as if he was justifying his farts because of some gastric disorder.

There is no news of any player using this trick to scare away their opponents. But there was another curious episode in 2015, when the Brazilian naturalized Spanish Diego Costa, who at the time was playing for Chelsea, after being fouled, provoked Ryan Shawcross and complained that the Stoke defender was smelling bad.

The issue made headlines. And, as a consequence, it generated marketing for a brand of deodorants, which presented the Stoke player with several boxes of their product. The athlete became the poster child for the deodorant.

And still in this field of “odors”, it is worth remembering another case that became famous in Europe, in 2017, involving Brazilian defender Marcelo, from Lyon, revealed by Santos.

According to the French newspaper L’Équipe, the athlete, aged 35 at the time, would have been dismissed by Lyon, after a bad performance for his team, and, when he arrived in the locker room, let out a loud fart and laughed with his teammates.

Disturbed, the leaders of the French club dismissed him a few days later and he was transferred to Bordeaux, after spells at Besiktas, Hannover 96, PSV and Wisla.
