NBA: Kevin Durant signs mega deal with Nike – like Jordan and LeBron – US SPORTS NBA BASKETBALL

This deal is historic.

Once Nike, always Nike – Kevin Durant (34/Phoenix Suns) probably thought so too. The NBA star has signed a “lifetime contract” with the US manufacturer.

Durant: “When I first signed with Nike, I could never have imagined how far we would go in this partnership.” Now he is walking in very special footsteps.

With this historic deal, Durant enters an elite circle. Only the NBA icons Michael Jordan (60) and LeBron James (38) also have a lifetime contract with the US company.

Durant: “I’m looking forward to the future and I’m honored to be in rare company with this contract.”

KD has been working with Nike since 2007. Since then, 15 special shoes have been created by Durant and the sporting goods manufacturer. A 16th sneaker is to be sold this year.

How much Durant skims for the mega deal is not known. NBA legend Michael Jordan shows that such a deal pays off massively. His shoe brand made $5 billion in profits in 2022 alone.

A 13-time All-Star and two-time NBA champion, Durant is considered one of the greatest basketball players of his generation. The forward is currently in the playoffs with the Phoenix Suns.
