Nicolas Jarry (ATP 54) is the winner of the Geneva Open 2023. The 1.98 m tall clay court specialist from Chile beat Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov (ATP 33) 7: 6 (7: 1) in the final of the ATP 250 tournament. , 6:1.

It’s Jarry’s third tournament win and second of the year after triumphing at home in Santiago de Chile in March. Dimitrov returned in the first set after a break deficit and equalized to 4:4. In the tie break, however, Jarry didn’t miss a beat and won it 7:1. In the second half, the 27-year-old made everything clear early on with service breakthroughs to make it 2-0 and 4-0. Dimitrov was denied the first tournament success on the tour since the ATP Finals 2017.

Tennis giants out of the way

On the way to the final, Jarry had seed numbers 1 and 3 with last year’s winner Casper Ruud and Alexander Zverev. He took revenge against Zverev for the defeat in the final in Geneva four years ago after missing match points.
