Exciting feat in the Cangas de Onís half marathon: Captain, athlete with ALS, the complete one in a wheelchair

José Luis Capitán, an athlete from Madrid living in Asturias, who suffers from Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), has once again surpassed himself. The athlete managed to cross the finish line in the Reconquista half marathon, which was held this Saturday. Captain did it in a time of 2:20:13, in a special wheelchair and helped by some volunteers. His arrival at the finish line, in Canga de Onís, was very emotional, with several people applauding him after this great achievement. Even the Captain himself was moved, bursting into tears on several occasions.

The edition of this half marathon is charitable, since part of the proceeds goes to the ELA Principado association, which tries to help people who, like the Captain, suffer from this disease.

The winner of the test was Alejandro Martínez, followed by Pablo Ibáñez. In the female category, Dolores Marco IItziar won, with Noelia Menéndez finishing second.
