Cayey, Cidra, Lajas and Fajardo score victories in Double A | Baseball

The Toritos de Cayey, the Bravos de Cidra, the Cardenales de Lajas and the Cariduros de Fajardo scored victories on the Saturday day of the 2023 postseason of Double A Superior Baseball.

The four teams dominate their respective section semifinal series 2-0, one win away from completing the sweep and advancing to the next stage.

Cayey crushed the Polluelos de Aibonito 15-3 with a result, backed by the barrage of 22 hits, four of them by Nelson Molina.

Pitcher Jesús Ortiz was masterful for the Toritos, striking out 10 in six innings with just two hits allowed and one run to win the challenge.

Also in the Central section, the Braves defeated the Pescadores del Plata de Comerío 5-2 with a four-round bouquet at the top of the seventh episode. A double from Pablo Sánchez gave the cidreños the definitive advantage.

In the Southwest, the Cardenales blanked the Petroleros de Peñuelas 3-0 with the impressive combination of pitchers Omar ‘El Seco’ Martínez, Ryan Hernández and Jeremie Infante, who limited the opposing offense with four hits.
