Borussia Mönchengladbach: Daniel Farke surprises with a confession Sports

After Gladbach coach Daniel Farke (46) recently sold the horror 1: 2 in Stuttgart as a “strong” performance, in which he could not “reproach” his team, many fans have concluded with this coach.

You feel, that was the tenor during the week, simply being made fun of by these statements…

Redemptive hit Volley makes Gladbach fans cheer!

The tough result: At the team presentation on Saturday by stadium announcer Toto Knippertz before the 2-0 win over VfL Bochum, it started for the first time Bundesliga-season a whistle against your own coach!

Most recently, Marcus Thuram (35) and Ramy Bensebaini (27, who was also whistled at before the Bochum game) received this full blow because they turned their backs on Borussia at the end of the season (free transfer, but that’s not their fault).

But Farke stays there – manager Roland Virkus (56) made that clear when asked by BILD.

Or does he even draw consequences from the dislike he is now facing? On the contrary. He can even get something really good out of the whistles!

The trainer: “After Stuttgart, I consciously put myself in front of my boys because there were a lot of young players and some like Oscar Fraulo or Semir Telalovic with practically zero Bundesliga experience. If I had banged on that too, I might have gotten some credit, but these guys need my full backing and they’re getting it.”

This is where app users come to the Gladbach captain survey!

Farke wants to protect his players!

Farke continues: “Criticism is totally justified, if the fans now choose the coach more than the players, that’s good. I am far from taking this personally. If you’re not willing to put up with it, then you shouldn’t be the coach of a traditional club like Borussia. After the 2-1 loss in Stuttgart, I deliberately put myself in front of a couple of guys to protect myself, and maybe that didn’t go down well with everyone. I prefer it when the whistles are directed at me than when it is passed on to the players.”

Color on: “It’s completely clear that with such a traditional club and a place in midfield, there is no euphoria. Internally we were very self-critical after Stuttgart and addressed a lot of things that went wrong. Against Bochum we then had twice the number of sprints on the offensive, found a lot more depth and created chances: So we showed a reaction, that’s all that was important to me.”

And Farke likes to be whistled at for that.
