Around the third playoff semi-final between BG Göttingen and Bayern Munich in the S-Arena.

Almost 90 minutes before the start of the game, the S-Arena is still manageably full. There are white and purple clapboards everywhere on the seats – part of the choreography arranged by the Veilchen-Power fan club before the start of the game. The hall presented an impressive picture at the team presentation.

In the social networks, about which opinions can always be divided, there was severe criticism after the wrong decisions by the referee trio Robert Lottermoser, Nesa Kovacevic and Moritz Krüper – sometimes even so harsh that some comments were deleted for reasons of etiquette.

An interesting piece of information emerged ahead of Sunday’s game. According to this report, Germany’s referee icons Robert Lottermoser (Bernau) and Nesa Kovacevic (Cologne) were suspended by the league for the remaining playoff games – the consequence of the two glaring wrong decisions 3.3 seconds before the end of the second quarterfinal Thrillers in the Audi Dome on Thursday. Kovacevic whistled for an alleged foul by Geno Crandall against Cassius Winston, although the man from Munich only slipped on an advertising space: wrong decision No.1! The second free throw for the “foul”, which was not a foul, Winston deliberately set against the ring to buy time – and went first to the rebound: The second rule error! But there were finally the consequences for referees. But this doesn’t help the BG either.

Hall spokesman Florian Schmidt mentioned in his introduction when the last playoff game was played in Göttingen: It was on May 4, 2012, when there was a 67:76 defeat against the Skyliners Frankfurt. Kyle Bailey contributed 19 points for BG at the time.

Not only MagentaSport was in the hall on Sunday, but also NDR with editor Jonas Freudenhammer for a long time. MagentaSport did not have an expert with them this time. haz/gsd
