It wasn’t enough, the rescue miracle didn’t happen…

A 2-4 draw in Leipzig on the last day of the game makes it clear: Schalke 04 will be relegated. After just one year in the Bundesliga, the Revierklub is back in the 2nd division.

They deserved the rescue! Here are the last Schalke Bundesliga minutes

Laimer (10th minute), who is moving to Bayern Munich in the summer, and Nkunku (19th) shock Schalke very early on. But the royal blue defends itself and draws new hope after the goal from Kaminski (28th) and the slap-stick own goal by Orban (49th).

But Poulsen (83rd) and Nkunku (90th + 4) finally shoot down the team of coach Reis, sealing the fifth relegation in Schalke club history after 1981, 1983, 1988 and 2021.

Tears on Schalke. Huge jubilation and ecstasy in Bochum – thanks to Takuma Asano (28)!

VfL wins 3-0 against Leverkusen with a majority (8th/red card for Adli) and jumps to 14th place and thus saves itself directly. Asano first prepares Förster’s lead (19′) before shaking the whole of Bochum with his goal to make it 2-0 (35′). Kevin Stöger makes the Bochum rescue party perfect with the 3:0 (86th).

Frustration on the other hand in Stuttgart!

VfB only played 1-1 against Hoffenheim, slipped down to relegation place 16 thanks to Bochum’s victory – and had to play in two duels (on June 1st and 5th) against HSV (currently third in the 2nd division) or Heidenheim trembling about staying in the Bundesliga.

Unbelievable! THESE VfB chances could have been the salvation

With a win, the Swabians would certainly have stayed in the Bundesliga – and would have sent Augsburg into the relegation against the second division third party.

In Augsburg, too, relegation can be celebrated despite the 2-0 defeat in Gladbach. FCA ended the season one point ahead of Stuttgart in 15th place.
