FC Utrecht managed to win 1-2 against FC Groningen in the Euroborg on Friday evening. Substitute Bas Dost scored the winning goal for Michael Silberbauer’s team. The trainer is satisfied with the result, but also does not want to celebrate too soon.
“I am happy that we have won an away game again,” Silberbauer says in conversation with RTV Utrecht. “But we can’t cheer yet. We have to do this again the next game.” A major setback for FC Utrecht and Silberbauer was the early failure of Othman Boussaid. He started the game injured and was substituted after fifteen minutes.
The Belgian had sprained his ankle in the warm-up. Silberbauer was surprised by Boussaid’s injury. “I asked him if he could play. He said he was not bothered. Then it is a pity to see that he cannot play after a few seconds. It is unfortunate,” Silberbauer concludes.
