Villarreal’s coach, Quique Setién, said at a press conference that he hopes his team will show the same level of play against Celta today as it did last Thursday against Espanyol, also at La Cerámica. The Cantabrian coach, who went through the bench of Lugo, Barça and Betis, among others, highlighted the individualities of Celta and was surprised by their position in the qualifying table.
“When you win and also accompany it with a good game and good feelings, it is always positive to face the future and the following games. The reality is that a victory like this strengthens any player and the coach a lot,” said the man from Santander.
Regarding Celta, Setién expanded and indicated that “it is a team that plays very well and has very good players. It has very good mechanisms and high quality. It has decisive players like Aspas, who has scored many goals, but who also greatly favors the game of his team”.
“Overall, they have a very competitive team. I expected them to be a bit higher in the standings, as when we played there they compromised us a lot and they hurt us a lot. We drew a draw, but it was a very close match and they did very well in the second half”, recalled the coach.
“I think that Celta is a team with great individualities, that has players that can get you goals out of nowhere. They have good forwards with quality to define the matches. It has a good team with a lot of quality and very decisive. It is a team of resources with a good coach, so I think it will cost us [ganar].
