SC Bastia “condemns all forms of racism” after the insults uttered against a Bordeaux player

The end of the match between Bordeaux and Bastia on Saturday was marked by a scuffle and the expulsion of Bastiais Migouel Alfareladu and Bordeaux Malcom Bokele, who was then the subject of racist insults on social networks.

The Sporting club of Bastia reacts. Three days after the match which had opposed it to Bordeaux, on behalf of the 30th day of Ligue 2, concluded with a defeat (2-0) and some tension between the two groups, the Corsican club took the floor. After the press release from the Girondins de Bordeaux, who on Saturday denounced racist remarks against one of its players, Malcom Bokele, the Corsican club made a point of specifying, Tuesday April 11, through a press releasethat he “condemns in a clear and unambiguous manner any form of racism or discrimination as it has always done”.

Nevertheless, “Sporting cannot allow its image to be tarnished by ambiguous communication from Bordeaux which would suggest that players, staff members or supporters present at the stadium have uttered racist insults“.

Threats on social networks

A desire not tolet it dirty” as underlined by the current fifth in Ligue 2, who “reserves the right to immediately take legal action against any person implicating Bastia Sporting Club“.

On Saturday, the end of the match between Bordeaux and Bastia ended in chaos and with the expulsion of Bokele and the Corsican player Migouel Alfarela following a scuffle. In the evening the Girondin club had announced that it was considering “prosecutions (…) so that the events that occurred today do not go unpunished”before specifying to AFP that these were insults uttered on social networks.
