Pan-American archery champion dies – Antigua Channel

Last Friday, March 31, the Institute of Sports and Recreation of the State of Querétaro, Mexico, confirmed the news about the death of Mexican Carlos Vaca at the age of 20. Carlos Vaca was the Pan American archery champion.

Vaca was considered a rising star in archery, winning several medals and was part of the Mexican national team. In 2018 he was crowned the youth Pan-American champion. In 2021 he won the gold and silver medals at the Youth Pan American Games held in Cali, Colombia.

The National Commission for Physical Culture and Sports of Mexico (Conade), as well as other athletes expressed messages of condolences for the death of Carlos Vaca. The agency reported the following:

“Conade and its director, Ana Gabriela Guevara, regret the sensitive death of Carlos Daniel Vaca Cordero, Mexican goalkeeper, gold and silver medalist at the Cali-Valle 2021 Junior Pan American Games.”
