Carlos Sainz denies having rejected Audi: "There is no truth in it"

Carlos Sainz’s future remains unknown: the only certainty is that next year he will not drive for Ferrari, as his seat will be occupied by Lewis Hamilton. The Spaniard has not yet made a decision about his next team, although this Thursday he denied from Miami that he has rejected the offer he has from Audi.

“No, that is not correct. There is no truth in it,” said the Madrid native, as reported by the newspaper Marca, to deny the information advanced by Antonio Lobato, who had advanced hours before Sainz “he decided not to accept the offer and miss the deadline I had to respond.”

In this sense, the winner of the Australian Grand Prix has acknowledged that the German brand is not reserving the garage for him, as well as that “the only security I have is that of myself that I want to make the right decision.”

“That’s also why it’s taking a little longer and that’s why I want to see all the available options before making any fundamental decision,” added the Spaniard, who wished Audi “the best” even though he has not yet decided “if it is a possibility for me or not.”

Regarding why it is taking longer to decide his next team, Sainz explained that “there are certain things that do not depend completely on me and we will have to wait for them to materialize”, although he clarified that “we are still in conversations and making progress on what we we can move forward” in negotiations with other teams.
