More than 1,200 players from Andalusia, Madrid and Murcia have participated in the 12th Easter Adaba Basketball Tournament

More than 1,200 players, 106 teams, three full hotels and 500 reserved rooms. The twelfth edition of the Easter Basketball Tournament organized by the Adaba Club, with the collaboration of the PMD, has once again been a complete success, both in sporting terms and due to the economic benefits it represents for the city’s hospitality industry.

The climax was held at noon today, Wednesday, at the El Toyo-Retamar Sports Complex, with the awards ceremony and a spectacular photograph of the participants that covered the basketball court. The first deputy mayor, Juan José Alonso, and the Councilor for Sports, Juanjo Segura, attended the ceremony with the company of Ana Belén García, president of Adaba, Luis Parejo, the club’s ‘alma mater’, and Juan Ramón Aguilera , club treasurer.

From April 2 to 5, the XII Adaba Easter Tournament has brought together more than 1,200 players from 14 clubs that come from different autonomous communities such as Andalusia, Madrid or Murcia. On the pitch of the CD El Toyo-Retamar and the Palace of the Mediterranean Games, 168 matches have been played, reflecting the good form of the teams.

Juan José Alonso and Juanjo Segura have congratulated Club Adaba “for the excellent organization of the tournament that has brought together players from all over Spain and who have enjoyed a unique experience, a total of 106 teams have passed through Almería and They have been able to train in basketball. And to the sporting aspect is added the boost it represents for hotels and shops in El Toyo and the entire city of Almería”.

For her part, Ana Belén García thanked “the support of the City Council and sponsors for a tournament that before the end of December had already filled all the places and is one of the most important grassroots basketball tournaments in Spain.”
