Teach course – El Heraldo de León

About 20 students from the Sergio Ocampo Taekwondo Academy will attend the World Taekwondo Open 2023 that will take place from April 8 in San Luis Potosí and before traveling, Sergio Ángel Ocampo teaches them a training course.

The purpose is that the Leonese taekwondo players who plan to attend said contest, go with a good previous preparation in order to aspire to return with good scores from their appointment at CAR La Loma.

Professor Sergio Ocampo Martínez, director of the Sergio Ocampo Tkd Academy (ASOC), reported that his grandson Sergio Ángel’s training course is from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Sergio Ocampo Country School; from Monday to Friday.

A day later, on Saturday, April 8, between 15 and 20 students from the academy will travel to San Luis Potosí to take part in the World Taekwondo Open 2023 where there will be a combat and poomsae competition.

The Leonese who attend the fair are of different ribbons and grades, as there are black and red ribbons, but also other colors.

IN MONTERREY

Professor Sergio Ocampo was in Monterrey a few weeks ago to be part of the recognition given to Professor Marcos Puente, a pioneer of taekwondo in the region.

Marcos Puente is 77 years old, of which 57 have been active doing martial arts such as: wrestling, judo, karate, taekwondo and other disciplines. He emerged from the Moo Duk Kwan organization, but “was expelled by Professor Daiwon Moon for gossip,” Ocampo explained.

During the event, Marcos Puente was recognized as 9th. Dan and 160 former students accompanied him and it is noteworthy that the pioneer of taekwondo in Nuevo León is still active.
