Millau congratulates its young athletes for their performances at the highest level

At the end of the day on Friday, April 21, the Tano hall in the Parc des sports received many Millavois athletes whom the City had wished to honor for their excellent results during the previous year.

Swimming, football, judo, mountain biking, petanque, rugby, shooting… the list is far from exhaustive as the disciplines practiced are numerous in the city of gloves and the young Millau athletes wear the colors of Millau loud and clear during the various competitions. . For this reason, the city, each year, honors those who have shone at the highest level.

Jean-Pierre Mas, municipal sports assistant as master of ceremonies praised the excellent results of the young athletes who were in turn called upon to receive a gift from the municipality. Some of their respective clubs were given checks for different amounts, a boost appreciated by the representatives of the associations.

By his side Emmanuelle Gazelle said to herself ” super proud and delighted to honor this combative youth who goes above and beyond to make the colors of Millau shine “. The mayor of Millau did not fail to underline the ” valuable work » of all the members and volunteers of the associations in a particularly important year for the Millavois sports clubs since they will be able to benefit from new or renovated equipment that has been long awaited. After the delivery of the Halle Amélie Le Fur a few weeks ago, the Paul Tort gymnasium will receive its first athletes, followed by the sports complex in a few months.

The city councilor also announced to all the young people present that they would be requested during the passage of the Olympic flame in Millau on May 13, 2024 pour « accompany this flame” before adding : “we want it to be a popular celebration, we are going to collect your ideas your wishes and make sure that this moment can be shared as much as possible ».
