Hamburg dominant / Storm win away / Regensburg with walk-off « 1. Baseball Bundesliga

Four games were scheduled for Saturday in the first baseball league. In the north, the Hamburg Stealers won 11-0 against the Cologne Cardinals. Simon Bäumer won the pitcher duel against national team colleague Florian Kawczynski. Eight runs in the fifth inning boosted the score significantly.

The Bonn Capitals also meet the Berlin Flamingos on Saturday evening. Game starts at 7 p.m.

In the south, the Mannheim Tornados and the Hünstetten Storm delivered a chaotic exchange of blows on the Roberto Clemente Field. The spectators saw many walks and a total of 27 runs. In the end, promoted Storm won 16:11. After only three innings, the guests were 13:1 in front.

In the Armin-Wolf-Arena in Regensburg, the spectators saw a completely different game than on Friday evening when the Guggenberger Legionnaires Regensburg scored 18:3. But the hosts also triumphed on Saturday. The Legionnaires beat the Mainz Athletics 2-1. Matt Vance made the decision with a walk-off RBI single in the ninth inning.

Seven more games will follow on Sunday. On the one hand, there are the second encounters between the Bonn Capitals and Berlin Flamingos, Hamburg Stealers and Cologne Cardinals as well as Hünstetten Storm and Mannheim Tornados. On the other hand, the Dohren Wild Farmers receive the Untouchables Paderborn for a double header and the Stuttgart Reds travel to the Munich-Haar Disciples for two games.
