James Nnaji, the pearl of Barça, appears in the NBA Draft

EThe NBA Draft threatens Barça. James Nnaji, one of the great pearls of his quarry and a player in whom many hopes for the future were placed, will be submitted to the NBA Draft this 2023. That does not mean that he will leave the Barça club immediately, of course, but he does take the first step in trying to make the leap to the best League in the world.

As reported by ESPN, the player’s agents would have confirmed that the player You have already submitted the necessary documentation to be eligible this year. At 18 years old, he will turn 19 on August 14, will become the second youngest player to be draftedin case his name ends up among the chosen ones.

In fact, in some forecasts Nnaji appears in the first round, although in low positions, between 25 and 30. Even so, the player’s idea is to probe his options in the Draft.

Nnanji regularly appears in Barça’s first team matches although his minutes are reduced. In fact he averages 9 minutes of games in the 37 games he has played between the Endesa League, Euroleague and Copa del Rey. However, despite not counting for much for Jasikevicius, many scouts have him on his agenda and some of them they qualify him as the most physical player of this Drafthighlighting his speed of movement and his forcefulness under boards.

Nnaji’s problem, like that of other European prospects, is his teams’ schedule. Ideally, the rookies who appear in the Draft participate early in the NBA combine, the program in which the teams will be able to see the players in action before the ceremony. That NBA combine will take place from May 15 to 21 in Chicago and the ceremony will be on May 22 in New York. Depending on Barça’s commitments, Nnaji’s presence is complicated, which is why his agents are negotiating a solution with the Barça team so that NBA teams can see the player.
