From August to January 2024
At the end of August 2023, Clara will come to the Netherlands. A long-cherished dream will come true. A courageous step towards adulthood. Clara will spend a semester in secondary education in the Netherlands and will live with a host family. Clara is really looking forward to it and would like to get to know our Dutch culture and mentality. There is only one problem for her, she doesn’t have a host family yet. She is not allowed to come to the Netherlands without this host family. So Clara doesn’t learn anything from how we treat each other in the Netherlands or how delicious herring and licorice are. But we also don’t teach you how to make the tastiest brookies. A missed opportunity, everyone will agree. That’s why the question: ‘Which host family can the friendly Clara come and live with until January 2024? In the video Clara introduces herself.

Me and my family are also host families, but for assistance dogs in training. In the future I would like to start my own business or become a trend finder in London. I really want to do something with marketing and fashion. Friday afternoon is sports afternoon at our school and I play badminton. Other things I still like to do is baking, I make the best brookies! Drawing is also something I like to do.

How do I become a host family?
Host families come in all shapes and sizes, in our view all combinations of host families can offer a warm home to the student. Young or older, single or a family with children? As long as you are enthusiastic and open to an intercultural experience. During the exchange, the host family and the student are supervised by one of our Local Coordinators. Travel Active also organizes events for students and host families. As a host family, you only provide board and lodging for the student. All other costs are for the account of Travel Active or for the student himself.
