José Javier Sainz and Mercedes Arroyo have prevailed in the first test of the Senior Circuit of Castilla y León ‘Memorial Paco Ibáñez’ 2023, which has been successfully held on the La Faisanera route in Segovia.

In this first tournament of the season, José Javier Sainz, a player from the Soria Golf Club, completed his performance with 31 points, the only participant above the 30 mark, surpassing the competition of the rest of his rivals, including Alfonso de Miguel, from Dehesa de Morón, and local golfer Juan Rubio stood out, second with 30. Melchor Nava from Palencia, with 29, also opted for victory until the last moment.

For her part, in the women’s category, Mercedes Arroyo, from Isla Dos Aguas, one of the great references of Castilian-Leon senior golf, finished in first position in a very convincing manner with 22 points, a record that was double that accumulated by Ana Isabel Bustos, by Grijota, second classified. Amparo Sánchez, from La Valmuza, with 10, completed the podium of the tournament.

Toashoes Award for Best Approach

José Antonio Moreno Díaz was awarded the Toashoes award for getting the best approach on the 10th hole of La Faisanera. Remember that the Senior Committee of the Castilla y León Golf Federation has signed an agreement with the aforementioned company Toashoes in order to sponsor the best indistinct approach in each of the Senior Circuit tournaments, awarded with a pair of shoes of its brand .
